...and now presidential order
By Amir Riaz August 27, 2008 Justice Khawaja Sharif said no one contacted him for rejoining nor he would join without reinstatement of Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry. He said he knew nothing about any move of this sort.
Another sacked judge, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, said that neither anybody contacted him nor he had any information about rejoining of any other of his colleagues. Sacked Justice Sair Ali also denied any such move and said that the sacked judges would not take any step against the lawyers movement.
Supreme Court Bar Association Secretary Amin Javed Chaudhry said that if the judges take oath it would be against the lawyers movement and the lawyers would consider these judges as PCO judges and would protest against their rejoining
It is pertinent to mention here that 10 judges of the LHC, including Justice Khawaja Muhammad Sharif, Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry, Justice MA Shahid Siddiqui, Justice Sair Ali, Justice Arshad Jhangir, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed, Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman and Justice Umar Ata Bandial, had not taken oath under November-3 Provisional Constitutional Order (PCO). Since then Justice Jahangir Arshad had retired on attaining age of superannuation.
