Kayani holds meetings with US leadership

WASHINGTON (APP) - Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani who is on an official visit to US had an extensive meetings and consultations in Washington.
According to ISPR here Thursday, he called on Gen (r) James L Jones National Security Advisor and Richard Holbrooke Special Representative to Pakistan and Afghanistan and discussed the wide range of security situation in the region.
COAS Gen Parvez Kayani also called on General David Petraeus, Commander Central Command and discussed matters of professional interest.
He held meetings with Senators and Congressmen to include Congressman Horward L Berman, Chairman House Foreign Affairs Committee, and Senator Carl M Levin, Chairman Senate Armed Forces Committee, Senator John F Kerry, Chairman Senate Foreign Relations Committee and Congressman lke Skelton, Chairman House Armed Forces Committee and discussed the regional security environment.
Later a special official dinner was hosted in honour of COAS by General George Casey Junior, US Army Chief.
