ISLAMABAD The Supreme Courts senior judge, Justice Javed Iqbal, has said that dispensation of justice at the doorsteps of people will remain merely a slogan unless the laws are simplified.
He was speaking at Federal Judicial Academy here on Friday. Justice Javed said, Our laws are very complicated. It is difficult to get over it once you are trapped in these laws. He said that Parliament could take steps to simplify the laws.
The senior judge also urged the need to launch mutual efforts for the success of National Judicial Policy. Changing the system that has been in practice for the last 60 years will take sometime, he said, urging every individual and society to play a role in this regard.
Justice Iqbal said the worst form of democracy was better than pleasing dictatorship. He also urged the young lawyers to play their role in providing judicial assistance to the public as well as to the courts.
