NWFP government alarmed over peace agreement violation

SWAT - Taliban militants, headed by Maulana Fazalullah, have again started collection of ‘donations’ in different parts of Swat District after having peace agreement with the NWFP government on May 21, 2008.

The black turban wearing Taliban, equipped with Klashnikovs, appeared at different places for collecting donations, which is surprising after having peace accords with the government. A number of Taliban, which the government claimed to have flushed out of Swat region, have been witnessed with baskets and cash memos in hands at various commercial places of Khawazakhela, Matta, Charbagh and Kabal in the presence of the security personnel. The Taliban militants headed by Maulana Fazalullah and the NWFP government signed an agreement on May 21, 2008, to bring peace in the region.
