Hashmi, Shah Mahmood rivalry costs PPP seat

It also merits mentioning here that the only person who ever inflicted defeat on Hashmi from Multan, was none else than Shah Mahmood Qureshi. Though Hashmi won three NA seats in February 18 elections, one each from Multan, Lahore and Rawalpindi, yet he also lost one seat from Multan. It was Shah Mahmood who defeated Hashmi from another seat in Multan.

Hashmi now seems to have avenged his defeat by causing defeat to Shah Mahmood's brother.

Meanwhile, the PPP has also lost one more provincial seat from PP-258 (Muzaffargarh). Here, the PPP-supported candidate, Zaqaullah Jatoi lost to an independent candidate, Syed Haroon Sultan. This seat had been vacated by PPP MNA Qayyum Jatoi who won from two seats.
