Qureshi to attend D-8 moot in Kuala Lumpur

ISLAMABAD - Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi will fly to Malaysia on Thursday (October 29) to represent Pakistan at the 12th session of D-8 Council of Ministers being held in Kuala Lumpur from October 30 to November 2.
The D-8 ministerial meeting will be followed by 27th session of D-8 Commission from D-8 countries. Qureshi will lead a delegation that will participate in the daylong deliberations of D-8 ministerial meeting scheduled on November 2. The meeting will adopt the reports of the 26th and 27th sessions of the D-8 Commission as well as the D-8 budget for the year 2010.
The meeting will focus on challenges being faced by the global economy and a joint statement will be issued reflecting progress made on Kuala Lumpurs initiative to address food security in the D-8 countries.
The Foreign Minister, on the sidelines of the meeting, will also hold separate meetings with his counterparts from D-8 countries, besides establishing links with Malaysian investors.
He will present a model of historic Badshahi Mosque of Lahore to the Islamic Art Museum of Malaysia that exhibits models of Islamic heritage from world over.
