President to showcase Pak point of view in US

ISLAMABAD - President Asif Ali Zardari Monday said that he would showcase Pakistans point of view in the fight against militancy and extremism, and what Islamabad needed most in that regard to the US leadership.
The President was speaking at a consultative meeting of Parliaments Foreign Relations Committee prior to his visit to United States at the Presidency here, according to an official statement. The meeting was attended among others by ANP President Asfandyar Wali Khan and MNAs Palwasha Khan, Farahnaz Isphani, Fauzia Habib, Nauman Islama Sheikh, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, Ayaz Amir, Mir Amir Ali Khan Magsi, Sheikh Aftab Ahmad, Raja Mohammad Asad Khan, Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, and Humair Hayat Khan Rokhri.
President Zardari said the government possessed the will to fight the militancy, but there were some areas where the capability needed to be strengthened and in that connection the international community could play a significant role.
Referring to the Swat peace deal, the President said it was signed by the NWFP government with the local religious leaders in Swat and thus needed to be placed in correct perspective before the international community.
The President then invited the members of the committee to give their suggestions, to which a number of members responded and made several suggestions. Those who gave their points of view included Asfandyar Wali Khan, Ayaz Amir, Humair Hayat Khan Rokhri, Palwasha Khan, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif and Mir Amir Ali Khan Magsi.
