Boucher coming with 'important message'
By SHAIQ HUSSAIN June 28, 2008 ISLAMABAD - The US Assistant Secretary of State Richard Boucher arrives here on Monday (June 30) on an important visit during which he is likely to ask for an end to peace deals with militants in the tribal areas while urging engagement with only the common tribesmen to isolate the terrorists.
"The Bush Administration supports Pakistan's dialogue for peace in Waziristan and other restive tribal regions but only with those not involved in militancy and this is the message that Assistant Secretary Boucher is expected to deliver to Pakistani leadership during his four-day stay in Islamabad from June 30 until July 3," said a senior government official here on Friday requesting not to be named.
