QUETTA - The Balochistan High Court has ordered for issuance of show-cause notices to Home Secretary Balochistan and police officials for not appearing before the court.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Amnaullah Khan Yasinzai and Justice Kelosh Noth Kohli passed this order during the hearing of suo moto notice regarding killing of three leaders in Turbat.
The bench had directed Home Secretary, DPO Turbat, DPO Panjgur and other concerned police officials for submitting a comprehensive report about incident but none of them appeared before the court on Tuesday.
Adjourning the hearing of suo moto case till May 20, the bench ordered for issuance of show-cause notice to Home Secretary and other concerned official respondents to explain for their failure to appear before the court.
The bench while hearing suo moto notice regarding container tragedy directed for suspension of FIA and Customs officials who were on duty on April 4 at Chaman. 45 Afghan nationals, who wanted to go to Iran illegally via Balochistan were suffocated to death in a container.
Adjourning the hearing of suo moto case till May 5, the bench directed FIA, FC and Customs authorities for submitting the report.
APP adds: The bench consisting of Chief Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai and justice Mehta Kailash Nath Kohli was hearing a sou moto case of the Afghan illegal immigrants container tragedy, which entered into Pakistan via Chaman border on April 4 and reached Quetta, in which 45 immigrants suffocated to death in the container.
The bench in its remarks raised objection on handing over of the container survivors to Afghan authorities by Pakistani officials in violation of Foreigners-Act 1946.
The bench put off proceedings of the sou moto case till May 5.
