Nejad hits out at Nato
August 29, 2008 DUSHANBE (AFP) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad issued a scathing attack on NATO Thursday, saying the Western alliance was failing to bring security to Afghanistan and fanning tension with its expansion drive.
“The presence of NATO forces in Afghanistan has not only not helped ensure security but has led to the deaths of innocent people on a regular basis,” he said, speaking alongside his Russian and Chinese counterparts, Dmitry Medvedev and Hu Jintao.
