5 militants killed in Lower Dir operation

Five militants were killed during a clash between security forces and militants in Lower Dir. According to sources, a clash erupted between security forces and militants in Kambar area of Lower Dir during ongoing operation in Malakand. Meanwhile, security forces overnight pounded militants hideouts in different areas of tehsil Maidan during which several hideouts were destroyed. Forces established checkpoints in tehsil Adeenzai, Chakdara, Gulabad, Talaash and other areas. On the other hand, an afghan national was arrested from Chakiatang area in upper Dir for facilitating militants. According to Dir media center, curfew would be relaxed from 7:00 am till 6:00 pm in tehsil Maidan and Adeenzai. Sources said security forces targeting militants strongholds in upper parts of tehsil Kabal of Swat and consolidating their position in Bahrain after regaining the control of the area. Curfew remained continued in district Swat for 16th consecutive day.
