ISLAMABAD - The security forces have killed seven militants while four soldiers embraced Shahadat and 12 others sustained injuries in last 24 hours in various areas of Swat, the ISPR statement disclosed on Thursday.
It also said that four militants had been apprehended from various areas of Swat.
According to details, the security forces also carried out cordon and search operation in Peochar village. Troops also ambushed a group of 15-20 militants at Mano Derai and killed three of them. They also arrested four others, the ISPR said. One soldier was also injured in the encounter, it added.
The ISPR further said that a convoy of eight army trucks carrying relief and food destined for Chakdarra, Barikot and Mingora got ambushed near Landa Kai near Barikot. Four security forces personnel embraced Shahadat in the incident. Despite this unfortunate incident the relief goods were distributed among stranded people of Mingora, the ISPR said.
According to ISPR, the security forces are also consolidating their positions in Mingora, Qambar and Kanju and Kabbal areas. Cordon and search operation was carried out in Nawagai, Nawan Killi, Gulabad and Landaikas, the ISPR statement added. The security forces have also arrested a known miscreant Ghani Ur Rehman during search and cordon operation. He has been involved in killing the police officials.
An IED explosion took place near village Piran Killay, Batkhela. No loss was reported.
The security forces also entered Bahrain early Thursday morning where locals welcomed them with national flags in their hands. At Sattaal, 4 kilometres short of Bahrain, an explosive laden vehicle was destroyed and two miscreants were killed. During exchange of fire between miscreants and the security forces, two miscreants were killed at Malam Jabba.
