Shahid made Chief of Staff

ISLAMABAD – Vice Admiral Shahid Iqbal assumed the duties of Chief of Staff (CoS) here at the Naval Headquarters on Tuesday.
Vice Admiral Shahid Iqbal who was commissioned in 1974 has assumed the charge of CoS upon retirement of Vice Admiral Asaf Humayun. He has rich experience of various command and staff appointments including Command of Destroyer, Commander Pakistan Fleet, Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Operations) and Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Training & Personnel). He has also served as faculty member at PN Staff College and Armed Forces War College (NDU).
In addition, he held the appointment of Director General Naval Intelligence and Commander Task Force-150 (Multinational Naval Forces) at NAVCENT Bahrain. The Admiral is recipient of Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military).
