Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has ruled out contention between army and government, saying that all the institutions are working in their limits.
The PM was addressing the media after visiting the families of the victims of Abpara Blast in Islamabad in July 2007.
‘There is no basis for the impression created by certain elements,’ he said. The army was discharging its duty effectively, adding that the institutions may collide if one of them used its powers illegitimately, Gilani said.
Gilani said “there is no deadlock in constitutional reforms committee over elimination of 17th amendment we are 200 percent serious in abolishment of 17th amendment.”
He said compensation of Rs two million and ownership of government houses will be given to the relatives and families of martyred officials. He said 2,000 flats will be constructed for police in federal capital.
