Lack of transport irks masses on Eid days
October 3, 2008 ISLAMABAD (Online)- The inhabitants of twin cities faced enormous problems due to shortage of public transporters during Eid days and the taxi and rickshaw drivers exploited the situation and charged high fares as compare to the normal situation.
It has also been observed that besides charging high fare, the transporters also did not leave their habit of not completing their routes and the rift and quarrels among commuters and transporters were observed.
Ahmad Sheeraz Saeed, a resident of the capital while narrating his ordeals told that he paid extra Rs. 50 to reach his destination on the second day of Eid. The inappropriate attitude of drivers also caused inconvenience to the passengers, he added.
