Snail's pace progress hinders implementation

By ASMA GHANI September 6, 2008

ISLAMABAD-The Education Ministry is unlikely to meet the target of implementing the new curriculum of all the subjects up to the higher secondary level in the next academic session of April due to the progress at a snail’s pace.

The former government had gained much credit on this matter making tall claims that the new curriculum had been notified according to the international standards to be implemented. Similarly the Former Education Minister, Ahsan Iqbal of the ruling coalition also had announced that the new curriculum would be implemented in the coming academic session of April 2009.

The much-talked about new curriculum that had to be implemented from the academic year of August 2008 claimed by the former government, could not be implemented as the curriculum of 34 subjects out of 60 subjects was yet to be prepared.
