PM Gilani to replace President Musharraf at Olympics

President Pervez Musharraf has cancelled a trip to the Beijing Olympics and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani will travel to China instead, the foreign ministry said Thursday. “Yes, the president has cancelled his visit to China and the prime minister is now going,” foreign ministry spokesman Mohammad Sadiq told Agencies. Musharraf was initially scheduled to leave on Wednesday for the Olympic opening ceremony but cancelled the flight. The foreign office had earlier announced that he was due to leave on Thursday.
