It was suggested in a meeting held at Parliament House on Monday, that the Intellectual Property Rights Organization should be made more vibrant to check the IP violations. Senator Sardar Muhammad Jamal Khan Laghari, presided over the meeting.
The Committee strongly recommended that the IPO - Pakistan Board of Directors should be revamped in a way that reflects the true aspirations of its stakeholders. The Committee took strong exception to the fact that IP laws were not being enforced properly due to which the genuine business was suffering and the investors were reluctant to invest in any sector. The Committee underlined the need for strict implementation of the laws by taking all the stakeholders into confidence.
