'Restoration of judges to enhance Zardari's image'

ISLAMABAD (APP) - The lawyers’ fraternity here Saturday expressed the optimism that the president-elect PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari would immediately announce restoration of all the deposed judges including deposed Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry.

Talking to this agency, Vice Chairman Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) Sayed ur Rehman said that drastic steps were required to change the stalemate being experienced by the countrymen in different spheres of life.

He stressed that change should not only take place with mere departure of personalities but it should be a real policy oriented change. He said that judges of superior judiciary were removed by a sole man on the mere fault that they took notice of the gross human violations.

VC PBC said if president elect Asif Ali Zardari restored the deposed Judges on their pre-November 2007 position, it will enhance his stature and image.
