Rs 300m govt project for quake affectees soon

RAWALPINDI - A city development project, worth Rs 300 million would be launched by the government in Muzaffarabad in terms of rehabilitation process after deadly earthquake 2005. Federal government would provide Rs 17 billion for the reconstruction of the earthquake-affected areas.

Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Northern Areas Qamar-uz-Zaman Kaira said this while addressing the opening ceremony of photographic exhibition, clicked by Photographer Amjad Hussain, of devastating Oct 8, 2008 earthquake at Rawalpindi Arts Council here on Tuesday.

Besides others, MNAs Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, Haji Pervaiz Khan and Malik Abrar Ahmed, MPAs Malik Yasir Raza, Raja Hanif, PPP CEC Member Qazi Sultan Mehmood and MD Bait-ul-Mall Zumurad Khan were also present on the occasion.
