Water shortage hits Capital hard
September 8, 2008 ISLAMABAD (Online)- People living in different sectors of Islamabad are facing acute water shortage for the last many days in the holy month of Ramzan, as Water Directorate of Capital Development Authority (CDA) have started selling water in black.
Various filtration plants installed by CDA in different sectors are not functioning properly, causing water scarcity in the capital. Sources in the CDA told Online that they were receiving average 600 to 700 complaints of water shortage from different localities daily and several complaints were attended.
Ahmed Sheeraz Saeed, a resident of I-Sector, said the entire area was facing water shortage and people were forced to fetch water from neighboring colonies at Iftari and Sheri time. He said some people were buying water tankers to meet their daily requirements.
