ISLAMABAD - Ever increasing power breakdowns in the capital city are creating numerous problems for the citizens and especially the patients, who visit the hospitals for treatment, have to suffer a lot owing to hours long electricity failures.
People cursing the government and WAPDA is not something new but one is appalled by the miserable conditions that the patients have to confront in the different hospitals of Islamabad because of unending power shutdowns.
One can imagine the condition of ill-fated patients when they are turned back on the pretext of 'no electricity and no treatment for those who require medical equipment'. Especially when the patients are brought to the hospitals in emergency situation and they find that the machines like X-ray and ECG etc could not be operated upon they virtually become mad because of rage and anger.
In most of the hospitals the electric generators are not available despite the fact that hospital is a place where people could have some relief for their pain but here in Islamabad, the very capital of Pakistan, it at times seems to be a madman dream.
During a visit to different hospitals of the city, it was revealed that people, who had come there for medical treatment had to wait, in some cases, for hours before going through different machines.
