Journalists hold demo against fake cases

ISLAMABAD - Journalist fraternity of twin cities Tuesday staged a protest demonstration and brought out a rally from National Press Club (NPC). They marched up to the Parliament House to draw the attention of authorities to the rising fake number of cases registered against the working journalists.
When the protest rally reached outside the Parliament House, media persons covering Senate proceedings staged a token walkout from the press lobby and joined their fellow journalists.
They demanded of the government to protect the life and property of the journalists.
The office-bearers of NPC and Rawalpindi Islamabad Union of Journalist (RIUJ) while addressing the gathering strongly condemned the registration of fake cases against their colleagues.
The also called upon the Punjab government to take notice of the incident in Gujranwala where some high-ups had registered fake case against the working Journalists namely Hafiz Munir and Karim.
They blamed the Federal Secretary Information for his alleged involvement in getting registered fake cases against senior journalists of Islamabad.
The journalists were carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans against government’s policies.
