Chief Justice M. Bilal Khan also observed that there was no reason for forcing the couple to visit police stations or court to sanctify their relationship.
The CJ disposed of a writ moved by Ishrat Hussain and Abida Kausar. The couple wanted removal of an FIR lodged by girl’s mother Razia Ba with Police Station Koral.
The CJ directed the police officials of the concerned station to record statement of the couple and rescind the FIR.
The couple also submitted an affidavit with the court and their counsel Raja Mehboob Ali stated that 28-year old girl had married Ishrat Hussain of her own will and without any pressure.
Razia Ba, mother of the girl, had filed a complaint with PS Koral, claiming that her daughter was abducted by Ishrat and three other men on May 13 when they were on their way to bazar.
