Mutual cooperation best solution: Envoy

By SIKANDER SHAHEEN August 17, 2008

ISLAMABAD - Mutual cooperation between Pakistan and Afghanistan is the key to addressing all the grievances between both the states, said Ambassador of Afghanistan to Pakistan Mohammad Anwar Anwarzai, here on Saturday.

He was the chief guest at the meeting session of Pakistan Norway Association (PANA). The Ambassador termed Pakistan as a brotherly state and trustworthy neighbour of Afghanistan. He vowed that both the states would forge a strong collective relationship to tackle the mutual threats being faced by them.

“Both the states enjoy cordial relations and there are no issues that lead to hostility,” he said. “Whenever there is progress on the diplomatic fronts between Pakistan and Afghanistan, some malicious elements try to sabotage it since they cannot bear prosperity in that region”, he added.

Terrorism, drugs, poverty, instability and political turmoil are some of the mutual problems of both the states and can only be dealt with cooperation, understanding and dialogue, observed Anwarzai.
