Over 1,000 traffic wardens to take charge in Pindi
By SHAHID RAO June 20, 2008 RAWALPINDI - The new traffic warden system is being introduced in major cities of Punjab with an objective to improve present traffic system, eliminate corruption in traffic police and provide quality services to the citizens and commuters.
City Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi SSP Dr Usman Anwar said while talking to media persons at a press conference here on Thursday. Senior traffic officer SP Malik Matloob Ahmed Awan and other senior police officials were also present on the occasion.
The SSP, Dr Usman, said that more than 1,000 traffic wardens would take charge of traffic management in Rawalpindi on Saturday after the launching ceremony of the new city traffic wardens system being held at 9:00am on the same day in Police Lines No.1.
