Work on new CDA headquarters soon

May 24, 2008

ISLAMABAD (Online) - After lapse of three years, the construction work on the new Capital Development Authority (CDA) headquarter, estimated to cost Rs 1 billion is likely to kick off soon.

Official sources said that the main reason behind the delay in construction of the new CDA headquarters was that the authority through a competitive bidding selected private architects based in Karachi to design the building and ignored its own professionals.

"The lethargic attitude of CDA officials in selecting a design no doubt is main cause of this long delay", said official sources.

Official sources said that this long delay no doubt has added to the miseries of employees based in its existing headquarter located in sector G-7.
