Malakand operation continues as forces reach near Pir Baba

Pakistan army’s operation ‘ Rah-e-Rast’ against militants continued in Malakand division as security forces reached Gadizai, one kilometer away from Pir Baba and took control of Mingora airport. According to sources, militants in Malakand Agency blown up a TV booster whereas security forces overnight pounded militants’ strongholds in different areas of tehsil Maidan. Many hideouts of militants were destroyed during the shelling. Security forces blown up houses of several militants’ commanders. Meanwhile, clashes underway between forces and militants in Pir Baba neighborhood and the area from Sultandus to Gaddizai have been cleared from militants. On the other hand, militants attacked Kalpani checkpost at upper and lower Dir border injuring four security personnel.
