Accreditation system for teachers suggested

ISLAMABAD (APP) - Educationists, professors and experts have suggested for ministry of education to put in place a system for standards and accreditation of teachers’ education to produce quality teachers for the country’s educational institutions.

They were addressing a national seminar on “Standards and Accreditation of Teacher Education”, organized by Ministry of Education in collaboration with  UNESCO under its project titled “Strengthening Teacher Education In Pakistan(STEP)” to seek proposals and suggestions from international and national experts in education field for designing accreditation system for teachers, here on Wednesday.

The speakers included Dr Sharon A. Siverts, George Mason University USA, Dr Gregor Allen Ramsey, from Australia, Jorge Sequeria, Representative UNESCO, Dr. Randy L. Hatfield, Director Education in USAID office, Secretary Education Jahangir Bashar, Dr Munawar Mirza, University of Education Lahore, and Dr. Fayyaz Ahmed, Joint Education, ministry of education and Mahmoo H.Butt, Allama Iqbal Open University.
