Red zone around Parliament House

ISLAMABAD - A comprehensive security plan was Saturday discussed to fortify the whole area, including the Parliament House and its vicinity.

The security plan was discussed in a high-level meeting at the Parliament House under the chairmanship of Senator Zaheer-ud-Din Babar Awan to examine and evaluate security-related issues in and around the Parliament House, with particular reference to the newly created red zone.

It was decided to create a red security zone around the Parliament building. Each and every person visiting the area would be checked at the entry points and his final destination would be determined before allowing him entry.
