A farewell to Seji Kojima

It reminded one Mr Kojima’s perception as a foreign diplomat in Islamabad that it was impossible to reverse the clock. He used to ask whether we should go to back Mr Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui. Now PML-N decision to forward Mr Siddiqui as the party’s candidate for next President of the country has proven Mr Kojima’s perception as true to bring Mr Siddiqui back if you really want to reverse the clock.

Another career as well as seasoned diplomat from Japan Ms Takada Mari was also leaving next month for her new posting after serving in Islamabad as head of the Political Section of the Japanese Embassy.

Journalists and politicians might not have noticed Ms Mari as an outstanding diplomat that served in Islamabad attracting most of the notables; she would leave a vacuum that would hardly be filled up by her successor.
