Sherry accuses EDOs Health of polio drive's failure

ISLAMABAD -Executive District Officers (Health) are responsible for complete failure of polio campaign at grass root level and they must be hold accountable, Health Minster Sherry Rehman told the Senate on Friday.

“New threats of polio virus are coming from Tribal Areas, Afghanistan’s border, Northern Areas and Afghan refugees camps. According to report, as many as 8,825 children were not immunized mainly in Tribal Areas due to opposition of some extremist people who have a misconception about polio drops that it causes infertility and impotence. They are spreading ideology against polio drops among the people,” She informed the Upper House while replying to supplementary questions.
