Sherry accuses EDOs Health of polio drive's failure

The Minister said that as many as 41 cases of Polio were reported during last two months. She said that Executive District Officers (EDOs) have miserably failed to deliver polio vaccine at grass root levels. She said that a total of Rs 232 million has been utilized for polio vaccine.    

She told the House that during last two years nine foreign agencies handed over $132.96 million while on the other hand Health Ministry during the last five years spent an amount approximately Rs 3379.61 million for purchasing polio vaccine. “We have to conduct some legislation about monitoring and campaign against Polio,” she urged.

The Minster said that her ministry had requested frequently to the provincial governments to play role to make polio Campaign successful. She said that lady health workers at district and council levels could play a pivotal role in the campaign.
