'National Youth Policy by June'
By FAREHIA REHMAN November 29, 2008 ISLAMABAD - After receiving harsh criticism from 150 young delegates, the Minister of Youth Affairs Shahid Hussain Bhutto Saturday announced that the Ministry would get approval of the National Youth Policy by June 2009.
About 150 young delegates from various youth networks across the country was gathered at the occasion of the National Youth Summit (NYS) 2008 titled “Uniting the Youth for Ensuring Meaningful Participation in the Development of Pakistan”, which was jointly organised by the World Population Foundation (WPF) Pakistan in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The three-day summit was planned with a view to deliver the message of unity and harmony to the youth and their organisations, bridge the gap between policymakers and youth and facilitate meaningful participation of youth in policies and programmes concerning their future.
