Over 2500 cops to guard Capital during holidays

ISLAMABAD  (APP) - More than 2,500 personnel of Islamabad police will guard main sectors of the city when the people will leave to their native towns on the eve of Eidul Fitr, the police sources said.

Police have chalked out a security plan. The holidays of Islamabad police have been canceled for ensuring rule of law and provide protection to lives and property of the citizens.

The policemen would also patrol in the various sectors and police in charges of circles would ensure proper security at the Eid congregations in various locations.

“Sub-Divisional Police Officers and Station House Officers would be the responsible of the security around worship places. They may be provided additional strength on their request for the effective patrolling and security at Eid congregations in various sectors,” he maintained.

Interior Ministry, the sources said, has issued special directions to Islamabad police to remain on high alert and fully prepared and vigilant to avert any untoward situation in the Capital.
