EC postponed local bodies by-elections
October 31, 2008 Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) postponed local bodies election scheduled to be held on November 17 in all four provinces. According to sources of EC, the elections on district, taluqa and town levels have been postponed because of law and order situation in Punjab, Sindh, and Frontier and hajj season. Earlier, Balcohistan government had announced the postponement of elections due to earthquake.
