Sindh to raise NFC, mark-up on loans with PM
By RAMZAN CHANDIO July 1, 2008 The federal government had already announced the formation of new National Finance Commission and the names of provincial representatives sought.
The PM had yet not given approval of one name of representative of Sindh in the National Finance Commission as the Sindh government had already sent two names.
Official confirmed that the Sindh government would also take up the issue of revival of oppression on establishment of Keti Bandar (port) project, shelved by Nawaz Sharif government during its second tenure.
Meanwhile, the Sindh government would urge the centre to expedite work on mining of Thar Coal Power Project and fixation of tariff, the official maintained.
Another issue is the timely release of funds for uplift projects in Sindh initiated under PSDP of federal government, official said. The presently various development schemes have not been completed due to funds not released on time. The judicious distribution of water among provinces and other issues pertaining to federation would also be discussed in the meeting.
