Court orders to register FIR against accused

KARACHI - Judicial Magistrate-VII district (South), Ghulam Farooq Sheikh on Tuesday directed the police to register the case against the accusers allegedly involved in marriage of minor aged girl.
The directive was issued when the police produced all the accused before the said court, in which Zia Awan of Human Rights and Legal Aid, appeared before the court counselling on the behalf of the minor aged girl named Zahida. He conferred the attention of the court towards the Sindh Children Act 1955 Section 48/63 and presented strong evidences. Moreover, he proved that Zahida’s marriage is based on her father’s bad intention, which is under the Pakistan Penal Code Section 496, on which honourable Court ordered to register the case against all the accusers.
The accused were arrested from their residence located in Azam Basti, in Jamshed Town within the jurisdiction of Mahmoodabad police station.
According to the police, Zahida 7 is the daughter of Abdul Rasool. Her marriage was a result of a barter agreement. Her father wanted to marry the boy’s sister and in return, he gave his daughter to the teenage boy. Her mother Parveen Bibi complained the concerned U.C nazim & Police Station about the matter, on which Police arrested the girl’s father, Abdul Rasool, a moulvi who solemnized the nikah Qari Naqeeb Ali Shah & the groom Dilshad s/o Muhammad Siddique.

The hearing of appeals files by convicted accused in Corps Commander attack case was put off indefinitely as counsel for defense was busy before another bench of SHC.The appeals were filed by eleven convicted accused who were sentenced to death. The appellants include Shehzad Bajwa, Shehzad Mukhtar, Danish Imam and Uzair Abdullah.
According to prosecution, accused belonging to a banned out fit attacked the convoy of the then Corps Commander just before Old Clifton bridge on June 10, 2004.
Seven persons including five guards in the convoy, a police man and a sweeper lady were killed in the incident.
The target remained unscathed as driver of the vehicle of Corps Commander took the vehicle away. The accused were sent up for trial before an Anti Terrorism Court for Karachi division which sentenced them to death against which the instant appeals were preferred.
