Pasban concerned over milk price-hike
August 2, 2008 In a statement on Friday, they said that the milk prices have been raised to over Rs40 per liter in violation of officials rate of Rs36. Pasban leaders said that the milk retailers and dairy farm owners had violated the court orders by increasing the milk prices without consultation with Provincial Livestock Department, adding that they deserve severe punishment.
They criticized the government and said that it seemed there was no government writ because inflation mafia had become too strong, adding that the city as well as provincial government had failed to comply with the court orders.
They demanded of the government to take notice of the issue and provide relief to inflation-hit masses by reducing milk prices.
