Another political surprise around the corner?

By Zamir Sheikh June 2, 2008

A leading political analyst has compared the current situation in Pakistan to a burning ship where the managers of the ship instead of putting off the fire to save it from destruction is standing upright and boldly to save their principled stand.

He argued that it is really strange that how can the managers of the ship save it from the burning inferno by sticking to their stand that all other things comes second and their principle is the top priority of their agenda.

If this interpretation is translated into present political reality, the political analyst means that the political managers of the country were more interested in the issue like the restoration of judiciary than bringing in control the galloping price hike and the miseries of the have not's.

It has become impossible for the poor and majority of the lower middle class to keep the soul and body together under the limited means that they have to buy expensive wheat and expensive petroleum goods which are indirectly influencing the price hike.

National economy is on the verge of a serious collapse. Stock market which had shown huge positive trend in the recent past is suddenly collapsing.

Karachi Stock Exchange tumbled of around 3,000 points in a week's time wiped out billions of rupees from the market.
