Eshwar withdraws case against PPP members

It is pertinent to mention here that during the budget session held on June 21, 2006, Lal sent a note to PPP's Shazia Atta Muhammad Marri through a peon. She passed it on to the opposition leader. The contents enraged several opposition members who subsequently beat up Lal.

While, following the incident, the then speaker Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah had suspended five members for the entire budget session, including Eshwar Lal and four PPP members including Shazia Marri, Saleem Hangoro, Nawaz Chandio and Ali Abbas, who allegedly involved in beating him up. According to the speaker and Eshwar Lal, the chit said that he (Lal) enquire about her health, but Shazia denied this and refused to reveal the chit's content.
