PPP leaders split over alliance with 'Q'

KARACHI - Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Sindh leaders have divided over the PML-Q leaders joining of PPP. Some PPP leaders are strongly opposing their joining but some are supporting, sources in PPP told The Nation here on Friday.

PML-Q leaders including Sherazi brothers and former chief minister Ali Mohammad Mahar and his brother, Ghotki Nazim, Ali Gohar Mahar, and MNA Ghous Bakhsh Mahar are willing to join PPP. PML-Q stalwarts are eager to join PPP and started backdoor diplomacy in PPP ranks to join PPP.

Sherazi brethren from Thatta, who were closed aides of former Sindh chief minister Arbab Rahim, ruled the Thatta district after 2002 election. Sherazi brethren, who after 2002 election, made turn coat and joined the PML-Q saying goodbye to the PPP and according to local leaders of the PPP they made the lives of PPP voters and supporters in Thatta district miserable.
