It's war against Muslims, not terrorism: Ridley

Karachi - United Kingdom national Yvonne Ridley who converted to Islam after her dramatic encounter with the Taliban has urged Pakistani people to exert pressur US government to release Dr Aafia Siddique.

Talking to reporters here at Idara Noor-e-Haq here on Tuesday, Yvonne said “let the people of Pakistan know their US counterparts that they would not tolerate such practice with their compatriots.”

She said she didn’t believe that Dr. Aafia was a criminal or a terrorist and added “even American themselves don’t believe the bizarre story the American government invented to keep Dr Aafia in their detention.”

She termed the War on terror as the war against Muslims.

“I know why Dr. Aafia backed off to have a lawyer to fight her case. If she wanted to meet her lawyer, two women would put off her clothes in front of four men in uniform to detect her. The same procedure follow her way back to the prison,” she said.
