Ignominy in the name of security

However, these days it is being seen in Karachi that Pushtoons or those who look like Pushtoons or suspected people are being stopped everywhere, whether they are in cars or driving motorbikes and being subjected to ‘security checking’ that is leading to more ethnic divide and rift in this mega city of Pakistan and enraging the innocent people.

Instead of using the old and traditional methods of checking, why don’t the security officials use modern equipment to detect explosives and weapons. Because the use of equipment would not only lead to the detection of weapons/ballistic materials, but it would also save millions of people from the routine sordid ordeal of humiliation after every bomb.

Everybody in the country knows that during security checking, the policemen extort money from common people, especially from the transporters and the motorcyclists. Why the security “red alert” is declared immediately after the new tragic incident of bomb blast and why don’t the security-men make efforts to act before the bloody incident?

The most tragic recent incident of blast at Marriott Hotel is the solid evidence of the negligence of the top security planners and why the whole nation should suffer due to their incompetence or negligence.

Why the top security officials don’t understand the fact that the militants or the terrorists operate only in those areas/spots where they find security lapses and they don’t hit their targets blindly or without proper/accurate calculation or survey?

The Marriot Hotel tragedy is a classical example of the planning by the terrorists. Because they acted just at the beginning of ‘Iftari’ when the security-men, exhausted by the daylong duty amid prior intelligence reports of this incident were enjoying ‘Iftari’ and even nobody had thought that the terrorists could have penetrated into this high security zone.
