Karachites forced to use dirty water

KARACHI - The water supplied to the city by water tankers is highly unhygienic and almost dirty, The Nation learnt through a brief survey conducted on Sunday.

The condition of water supplied to the city by these water tankers needs a serious check by the concerned authorities. The water tankers are providing contaminated water to the citizens without any fear of vigilance and accountability from the authorities concerned in the water sector KWSB, DHA and other suppliers in the city. The tanker mafia is working according to its free will, citizens told The Nation.

The condition of water tankers that are supplying water to the city is very disturbing. These tankers are not up to or even near to the standard of quality that is need to be considered. Most of the tankers have rusted body with cracks and holes, which cause water loss while it is being transported to its destination and magnify contamination. There is no system of check and balance from the concerned authorities and this lapse has given these people free hand as they are playing with the plight of the citizens of metropolitan.
