Karachites forced to use dirty water

The residents of the apartments are of the view that the conditions of cleanliness of water tanks at their apartment buildings are questionable. They have also observed that these tanks have not been cleaned since last four years. The already dirty water of these tankers when dropped into under ground water tanks, the dust in these tanks mixed up with this water and makes it extremely unhygienic for its users. The residents claimed that authorities were not interested to listen any protest by the residents. Lack of resources is the basic excuse for their malpractice. Despite the fact that the apartment authorities get huge amount of money for maintenance charges from their inhabitants.

It is also reported that the water hydrant unit situated at Federal B Area is supplying contaminated water to the area, despite the fact that it is clearly mentioned there that its water is not for drinking purpose, but some tankers supplying it as drinking water.

Medical circles fear that use of contaminated water can cause the break-out of fatal diseases in the city.

Residents of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulshan-e-Iqbal block 3 and 4, Gulistan-e-Johar, Malir, Sadder and DHA have given their views about pathetic water supplying condition in their areas.

It is to be noted here that the tap water that is being supplied to the city is also below in standard as far as its quality for drinking purpose is concerned. This is due to the fact that the water pipe lines are placed with the sewerage pipelines. The issue has been addressed quite frequently but no substantial step has been taken in this regard.

The people of the mega city now wait for any miracle that would provide them with the clean and pure drinking water.
