Sugar price surges to Rs37 per kg
By RAMZAN CHANDIO October 5, 2008 Similarly, during last 3-4 days further hike of Rs2 has been witnessed in the prices of white sweetener in other areas of city where retailers were charging Rs36 per kg as compared to the previous rate of Rs34 kg. Market dealers claimed that the trend of hike in the prices of ex-mill rate of the commodity was also the main reason behind the recent surge in retail price of sugar as the ex-mill rate of sugar has jumped to Rs31.50-per kg in Sindh and Rs32.50 per kg in Punjab during last three days.
