SA flays ISAF attack, firing at PM convoy

The Standing Committees are: - Standing Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Standing Committee on Broad of Revenue, Standing Committee on Cooperation and Community Development, Standing Committee on Culture, Tourism and Archives, Standing Committee on Finance and Inter Provincial, Standing Committee on Food, Supply and Prices, Standing Committee on Environment and Alternate Energy and Power, Standing Committee on Education and Literacy, Standing Committee on Excise and Taxation, Standing Committee on Health, Standing Committee on Home, Standing Committee on Prisons, Standing Committee on Forests and Wildlife, Standing Committee on Industries and Mineral Development, Standing Committee on Information, Standing Committee on Irrigation, Standing Committee on Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Human Rights, Standing Committee on Local government, Standing Committee on Katchi abadis and Rural Development, Standing Committee on Planning and Development, Standing Committee on Population Welfare, Social Welfare and Women Development, Standing Committee on Public Health, Standing Committee on Religious affairs, Zakat and Ushr; Auqaf, Standing Committee on Minority, Standing Committee on SG&CD, Standing Committee on Works and Services, Standing Committee on Science and Technology and Information Technology, Standing Committee on Labour, Standing Committee on Youth Affairs and Sports and Standing Committee on Transport.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that government wanted to involve more and more members of the house to actively participate in governance, adding that the government was setting good convention. He hoped that the committees would work constructively. He said that there will be no discrimination and distinction in provision of privileges to chairperson of committees and its members.

Sindh Minister and MQM Parliamentary leader Sardar Ahmed said increase in the strength of committees was necessary as now there were 33 departments listed in rules of business. He said that during previous regime, standing committees were constituted three years late, which hamper function of various departments.

After the question hour was over, opposition PML (F) female legislator Marvi Rashidi, on a point of order, complained that in Kunri taluka of Tharparkar district, Qadiyanis, who were declared non-Muslims during Z.A Bhutto’s era, have started reprehensible activities in the area and have published an imaginary pictures of Holy Prophet (PBUH).

She said that this act has created resentment among the Muslims and asked the government to take notice of the nefarious activities.

Speaker Nisar Khuhro asked Home Minster Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza to look into the matter.

The Home Minister informed the house that a Qadiyani doctor had apprised him about the conspiracy, which was afoot against them. The minister said that similar issue had propped up in Badin district.
