Sindh Cabinet approves steps to check inflation
By Zamir Sheikh June 7, 2008 KARACHI - In the first full Sindh Cabinet meeting attended by the newly appointed MQM ministers, a number of decisions were taken including setting up of two committees- the Peace committee and price control committee.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah here on Friday presided over the meeting held at the Sindh Secretariat building. The meeting lasted for over three hours during which it approved the formation of two committees which would deal with important issues of law and order and price control in the province.
Provincial Information Minister Ms. Shazia Marri giving the details of the proceedings of the meeting, at a press conference, said that cabinet had approved setting up of Peace Committee in all the districts of the province. Minister or a MPA of the concerned district would head the committee and the DCO would be its secretary. Other members in the committee would be drawn from the notables of the area, DPO and prominent citizens of the district. Each district committee would be responsible for maintaining law and order and peace in its jurisdiction.
