Indonesian envoy lauds CDGK uplift projects

KARACHI - Indonesian Ambassador to Pakistan, Ishak Latuconsina, met Nazim Karachi Syed Mustafa Kamal at his office here Saturday and had an exchange of views.
On the occasion the Indonesian Ambassador praised the reconstruction and development in Karachi and said that signal-free corridors constructed here can be presented as a model before the developing countries.
He pointed out that Djakarata has less traffic volume than Karachi, but complaints about traffic jam there are rising. “We want to solve the traffic problems in Djakarta by benefiting from development of Karachi and particularly the experience of signal- free corridors.
Mr Ishak stressed on exchange of trade between the two countries, specially with Karachi and investment and said Indonesia is keen to promote its trade upto Karachi.
He observed that the development that has taken place in Karachi, particularly construction of roads, flyovers network and development of infrastructure will be of great advantage for investors and traders.
Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal said that Karachi was the biggest and important city of not only Pakistan and the region but the entire islamic world and with a population of 18 million, it is also a major commercial market where vast scope exists for markting on a large scale.
He said that besides security of investment made here and the investors, there is also assured big profit margin.
He said that Haq Parast City Government carried out development under a vision and planning for the last four years to achieve far reaching results and will accrue benefits to citizens and the country as well in the future.
Mustafa Kamal informed that besides infrastructure development, special emphasis was also laid on industrial areas to provide opportunities to businessmen and industrialists for the propagation of their products.
“We spent 300 billion rupees for this purpose during the last 4 years”.
He said the Haq Parast City Government carried out development in all parts of the city without discrimination and find no parallel in the past.
